Leblon change

Has Leblon undergone a significant change in flavour profile? When I tried it last summer at Tales of the Cocktail it seemed very quite light and dry with little flavour. The bottle that I purchased this week is rich and full flavoured!

My bottle was an older one (I think) and I didn't replace it. While it wasn't the paint remover some cachacas are, I thought it was still a little rough around the edges unless used in a cocktail.

That is consistant with my prior impressions of Leblon, but this newest bottle has almost a completely different taste, smooth and rich.

Saw the Leblon Cachaзa today at the grocery store! Surprised to see this 1L bottle there for around $32 (Vons in SCal) Nice to see...

Leblon is getting a lot of attention. Maybe they steped up their game by re-blending. I perfer Agua Luca.

I find the Agua Luca to be lighter and sweeter than the Leblon. Too sweet for me! While the Luca might mix fairly well, I certainly prefer the new Leblon.

Hi. Leblon changes very imperceptibly but like wine from year to year, or cognac, Leblon's blends may give it greater complexity, "corps" or flavor from year to year.

i like Leblon.
i also recently revisited it and found it to be more complex than my original impression.
i assumed it was because i was writing it up, and therefore trying to find the nuances for the purpose the review.
Alas, after reading this thread i went back and just drank it and found my initial conclusions to be correct it does 'seem' more complex.
Though i would not say a dramatic change, but noticeable, it does seem improved-- perhaps our palates are evolving.

Agua Luca, like Leblon, has evolved from its first offering in the US. Few sugar cane spirits don't change, so it's worthwhile to taste them at least every 6 months. And you thought drinking rum was going to be easy?
