It's been a while since I last tried it. As far as I can remember it's quite reasonable, and definitely the best overproof rum that I've ever sampled, but obviously not in the same class as El Dorado 12 year old or 15 year old.

I have never tried the Woods 100 but the BCLDB has Woods Navy rum.

Its better mixed in with Coke or something similar. I found Woods Navy to have a good initial flavor but then quickly thin out into an alcohol backbite.

Yesterday we've drunk in a small circle of Scotch & Bourbon Lovers some old Single Malts (amongst others: Macallan 18 years destilled 1966, bottled 1984; Mortlach 12 years old, destilled in the late sixties, bottled around 1980; Linkwood 12 years old destilled 1960, bottled 1972).

Afterwards we put two rums in the glasses: Wood's Old Navy, diluted with a little water to a strength about 45 to 50 %, and El Dorado 15.

It might be unfair to compare them with those complex old malts. But, interesting enough, everybody agreed that Wood's is worth the money (35 Euro for 1,0 L in Germany) and drinkable. The El Dorado as opposed to this were widely denied: it has a somewhat pushy, caramelized sweetness, too sweet for many Whisky drinkers....
