In my experience most of the soft fruits from here, and especially mango, papaya and passion fruit do not translate well into a commercially flavoured rum. I have not tasted Ricardo.
The best idea is to find fresh fruit or a good frozen puree, and blend your own concoction...Besides, It's fun, and you can take pride in the results!

Ricardo has very limited distribution outside the islands. You might try looking for Brinley Gold Mango Rum if you live in the eastern US.

Brinley Gold Mango Rum, the best mango rum that I have tasted! If fact, their flavored rums are all great.

I've seen the 267 Mango Rum in stores up in Illinois, but frankly I'm a little scared to try!!! Too much "stuff" floating around inside the bottle.

We haven't had any other flavored rums, but the Brinley Gold Mango has an excellent, true mango taste and is 72 proof, if memory serves.

Your memory does serve. YOu are correct.
I purchased some mango flavored soda today... can't wait to try it with a shot of rum when I get home.

I like Cruzan mango rum the best. I made a mojito the other night by mixing lots of mint with the juice of a lime, a pinch of bar sugar, a splash of Monin passion fruit syrup and a good measure of the rum. Top with club soda and it's a refreshing treat to ring in summer. If you had some fresh mango, I would chop a bit up and muddle it wit the mint.
I've tried Malibu and Parrot Bay mango rums, too, and they're OK for mixing, if a bit more cloying than the crisp, more natural flavor of the Cruzan.
I'm not a fan of blended drinks on the whole, but if it's really hot out and I have a group of friends over for the afternoon, I make this daiquiri, and it's always a crowd-pleaser: Blend plenty of ice, frozen strawberries (and maybe some frozen pineapple, too), passion fruit juice and mango rum.

I've tried several mango rums and believe Mount Gay Mango and Brinley Gold Mango to be the best.

The Mount Gay Mango is getting "86'd" so if you like it, get some. However, I've seen plenty of it on the shelves in most states I travel to. (Probably because it wasn't a big seller?)
I've not had the MG Mango, but their attempt at vanilla was not so good, I picked up a bottle on the cheap a little while ago on travels, and had a bit, and didn't even bother to bring the bottle home with me - left it in the hotel room!
