u guys must had this question asked b4 so sorry....
whats the different between rum and cachaca???

I do believe cachaca is made from fresh sugarcane juice while rum is mostly made from molasses. Molasses being leftover from boiling the sugar juice to extract the sugar crystals.

There is another thread somewhere where Ed describes the differences in more detail regarding the %ABV in the initial distillation of Rum vs. Cachaca.

Some rums are also made from cane juice/cane syrup rather than molasses.
