This was a line that was going to be exclusive to the Cuba Libre restaurants but it seems the restaurant chain didn't buy as much as they anticipated and El Dorado ended up with more product than they were planning on having so they are selling it in limited markets.

My take on these are that if you love the 12 & 15 year old blends you'll be disappointed with the Cuba Libre rums as they were blended for a different market.

We picked up a bottle of the Cuba Libre El Dorado Spiced Rum from drinkupny, but haven't had a chance to try it yet. The usual El Dorado Spiced Rum doesn't seem to be available in this country and we had hoped that the Cuba Libre version was just a relabelling. We'll give it a fair try, in any case, but has anyone yet tasted this spiced rum?

Cuba Libre spiced is a different blend than that bottled under the El Dorado label.
