Default going to cuba tomorrow

i am going to cuba over easter :-)
we will spend 4 days there and will be in la havana most of the time.
any suggestions beside ""My mojito in La Bodeguita, My daiquiri in El Floridita"" as hemingway did it?!?

we will stay in a hotel right in the middle between "centro habana" and "habana vieja" in a street called "consulado" - any great bars around there?

what rums do you like beside havanna club?

Depends on what it should be used for..and your mood of the day, but here are but a few examples: for mixing..Goslings Black Seal, Coruba dark and Coruba12.. Appleton VX, Appleton 12, Appleton white...Lemon Hart.

I really love Lemon Hart demerara 151...........and Appleton overproof as well.

For sipping..El Dorado 15, Pamero Aniversario...Zacapa 23...Oronoco.

For both..Whalers Dark..

I have surely forgotten many..

there is a lot of americans here in nassau that go to cuba for a weekend - they don't stamp your passport when you go there (raul knows how to deal with the modern times ;-)

ah, and thank you Tiare,
but actually i asked for other cuban rums you like. i will not get any appleton or gosling's there i guess ;-)

these i can buy here, taxfree! and i realy have to buy other stuff, because most of the bahamian rum is realy bad sweetened, colord... crap (there is some others by don lorenzo and older ones by ole nassau, but they stopt producing the decent ones and expanding tourist-bullshit.. god konws why they can't do both)

Bahamian, I just got back on the 11th. The rums I go t included the Havana Club 7yo and HC Barrel Proof, Ron Mulata Anejo Reserva, the 7yo Legendario Rum Liquor and a limited edition Ron Vigia Gran Anejo. I really liked the Ron Mulata Anejo Reserva.

There is a Rum distillery just outside of Havana known as the Santa Cruz distillery in Matanzas. One of my regrets was that I did not take the tour. They make Havana Club in this distillery. I recommend you take the tour.

Also in Havana there is a Rum Museum (Museo del Ron Havana Club) at the corner of Ave Del Purto and Sol. Inside is the Bar Havana Club.

As for other Bars there is the Floridita home of the Daiquiri where you will find Hemingways stool at the end of the bar.

Have fun.

I'd recommend "Caney".
