An Iowan in Japan
Why did it take me so long to find this place?! Absolutely lovely.
As the title says, born and raised in Iowa then moved to Japan about 8 years ago. Been in Hiroshima for four years and think I've found my home.
Rum was discovered way back in college but I didn't have the funds to explore much beyond Bacardi. Too bad I didn't learn more before I left.
Japan is awash in whiskey (some mighty fine whiskey), and I tried my best to get into it, but it just doesn't have the 'it' that rum does.
At my local shop I can get a Zacapa 15yr and two kinds of Havana Club. The next level is Bacardi 8 or Captain Morgan followed by some really cheap stuff. I am extremely jealous of some of the rum cabinets I have seen on here!
Hope to hear from thebrand, another rum lover in Japan, on possible places to enjoy the drink and pick up a few more bottles.
