Default Hello from Vancouver

I am glad to have found this site! I am a converted scotch drinker and have developed a real love for rum. I certainly enjoy trying new rums and look forward to learning a lot here.
Cheers

Welcome 4of3.

Let's hear your list of current favourites. Both available in BC and otherwise.

And keep an eye out for the BC Roll Call thread. It'll give a good rundown of the local members.

Some rums I enjoy are: Pyrat XO Reserva; Mount Gay Extra Old; Ron Zacapa Solera Reserva; El Dorado 15 yr; Appleton Estate Extra; Matsusalem 15 yr Solera Gran Reserva and Bacardi 8 yr.

I had a chance to taste Pussers Navy Rum on the weekend and it didn't seem too bad. It might be worth a more "in depth" sampling.

Looks like Pyrat finally came down in price in BC...

*There are Reef rum nights each month at the various Reef locations. You just missed the Doorly's XO one but I'll try to find the list, so you can make a plan to attend if any of the rums interests you.

Nice to hear about Pyrat. It is one of my favorites. It would be good to know about the Reef events. Thanks

I must say, I'm jealous - Rum tastings are much harder to come by in Calgary - I wish we had a Reef restaurant!
