Default El Dorado Single Barrel EHP

Just got a bottle of ED single barrel this weekend for my b-day .

Would like to know fro those who have tasted it what they think about it and what comparison could be made with other products in the ED line.

dom, it's simple, unadulterated, and good. Some in the forum were less than impressed and consider the 3 different releases in the collection a "study". I respect this aspect as a unique trek into the mind of the blender, but, I think they are fine rums as well. You should look for the PM, too.

Agree and am 1 of the subscribers to the it's "study" materials.

It's important to first acknowledge however, El Dorado produces excellent finished products (IMHO). So in retrospect, the single barrel examples I have tasted have been a bit of a contrast to usual El Do offerings.

Matusalem, you bring up a good point. The ED products, 12, 15, & 21, (much cheaper than the Single Barrels) are the best argument against paying more $$$ for the SB editions. Their complexity is above and beyond any one of the SB's.

What I like about the SB's is that they retain the Guyanese character and taste only with a Dominican lightness. I've never found anything quite like them.
