With chicken curry and naan! Curious to find the last bastion of communism in alignment with the largest democracy in the world. Namaste! Thanks Tiare.

India has been on the biggest alcohol producers for a long time. There is a lot of sugar cane in India made into sugar, molasses and then rum, of all qualities.

Where does all the rum go? Seems like we have 1 or maybe 2 rums from India here in the US...? Old Monk is one, I think, and I can't think of the other

Some of it is consumed in India, it is also sent shipped to China and other SE Asia countries. Thailand and the Philippines are other rum producing countries which don't export much of anything to the US. And then there's Australia which also isn't well represented in the US.
One of the reasons you don't see a lot of these rums in other markets is that historically the best rums have come from the Caribbean basin and the US and European markets have developed a taste for aged Caribbean rum and most of the rums from other places have a different taste profile and they are competing with established brands.

Looks like everything gets out-sourced to India!
