Vintage Bacardi Rum

A buddy of mine showed me a bottle of vintage Bacardi Rum in a wicker/cane covered bottle. He does not drink rum, and wanted to know how much it is worth so he can sell it.

The label says "Ron Bacardi Superior de Bacardi y Cia, Establecidos en 1862 en Santiago Cuba". At the bottom of the label is says "Hecho en Mexico" so obviously it is not a product of Cuba.

Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I am not finding much info online, other than empty bottles that have sold on eBay for around $60.
