New Member from LA
Hello to everyone here on the forum. I joined a couple of days ago but somehow did not hit the right button to post so here I am trying again. This is a great website. I discovered it shortly after its inception and have learned a lot about my favorite alchoholic beverage but have only been lurking around unobserved till I decided to join and learn even more. I first became aware of our guru's existence by reading an article in a sailing magazine a few years ago about E H. My login name is actually the name of my sailboat on which I cruise during the fall and winter months. I am retired and moved into this area only after retiring. I am presently in the other LA (lower Alabama) which is what the folks in south Alabama call the little southwestern part of the state that borders the Gulf of Mexico. I look forward to the camaraderie I noticed on this forum. Cheers to all.

Thank, Rum Runner, for the quick response to my post. My father's favorite alcoholic beverage was rum so I am carrying on the family tradition. He would have loved this website. I learned all I knew about alcoholic beverages after I reached middle age by visiting and talking with my father and sharing good rum with him-always neat or OTR. I visited a really tiny rum distillery a few months ago in Tennessee where they make a truly excellent rum. Pritchard's. Maybe I can share some photos I took of this very charming micro distillery and tell about a product they sell at the distillery that can not be bought at any liquour store. It is a special bottled 90 proof product that is even better than their main rum which is excellent by any standard.
Cheers, Joe Sun Dog

Welcome sundog. You aren't the first new member to not hit the Post button on your first post.
I had the pleasure of seeing Phil Prichard last weekend and had a bottle of his private stock last year. It's a great place and I'd be happy to add some of your photos to the Prichards' page on this site with credit to you.
Since you've been below decks no doubt you'll discover even more now as a member.

Lot's of great information here, welcome sundog!
And as I ever so SLOWLY familiarize myself with this
forum and it's members, I realize now that I never posted an introduction way back in 2007, lol...I thought I had. Lordy. I blame the long cold Canadian winters and the fact that my igloo doesn't have internet access

Welcome Sundog! Good Ole L.A., I used to live in what Floridians consider L.A., Pensacola, and it supposedly was at one time. I heard that the Alabama border used to extend to what is now Blue Angel Pkwy. I love the Orange Beach area, and especially enjoyed boating around the intercoastal in your neck of the woods, especially around Ono Island and Alabama Point. Beautiful clear waters and great fishing. I lived on the Florida/Alabama border up on Perdido Bay near Lillian, AL when I was there. Easy access to the intercoastal and the Gulf. Take care and enjoy the For-Rum.

It's "cheers y'all" isn't it? Welcome aboard sundog, I was like you and lurked for a while before joining, and I can say that the party is only better when you're a member.
