Default Bundaberg - expert advise

I had some friends come over from Australia. They actually were staying with a member of my family, but the wife and I hosted them to dinner and dancing. They told me about Bundaberg ( they seemed to like the underproof) and I wanted to ask the experts.

Since I have never tasted it, how does it compare with rums from our hemisphere? Are there rums that are similar? Next, to work on the collection, is there any way to get it in the USA? Even if it is not drink worthy, I would like to have some as an addition.

I have found no one that carries it.

Thumbs down

I've tried the Bundaberg Black about 3 years ago and I hated was similar to drinking cheap scotch..harsh, thin with a real back-bite.

I purchased the bottle in Alberta.

For Australian rum...I've heard that Inner Circle brands are the top ones...

I have a bottle of the Bundaberg 8 limited edition and while I have not yet opened it or tasted any other Bundies I have tried this other Australian rum which is not that different from other rums.

I'll let you know what the Bundy 8 is like as soon as I try it (this year hopefully).

I have not tried the whole Bundaberg range, but those I have tasted did little for me. There is a great Bundaberg ginger beer though.

So far as Australian rum goes, I don't think you can go past Inner Circle. They make some great pot stilled rums.
