Default Rum Jumbie Liqueur

Has anyone tasted this liqueur from Saint Martin and is it available in the U.S.?

Actually Rum Jumbie is from Sint Maarten, the other side of the island. Rum Jumbie is a private label distilled and bottled in Panama and it is coming to the US. It was being imported a few years ago but being a new product it didn't get much attention.

As for the rum in the bottle, it has an added orange essence which I found to be agreeable and doesn't distract from the overall experience. There's some spice in the finish and all in all it is a nice bottle of rum to bring back from the islands. In Sint Maarten, it is available in a painted and unpainted bottle, the former being slightly more dear.

When this becomes available in the US, I'll post it in the Rum News.

Post Rum Jumbie

I was in Sint Maarten last May, and tasted the rum, which is to me, heavier, like a liqueur. They do advertise it as one. It has some spice, a touch of orange, and pretty sweet.
It seemed to be everywhere, and there were many adds for it. It was not one I chose to bring home with me, but it was OK. The bottle was fun, might be fun in the collection.

I just picked up a bottle of this today in Florida, so it's in the states now. Judging from the coat of dust on the bottle, it's been sitting there awhile now LOL...

It's an interesting flavor for sure, golden colored with a very citrus inspired, sweet flavor. almost like a blend of rum and triple sec , but somehow different from that slightly. I can see potential in this for some exotic mixed drinks
