I was just curious, could one still purchase a bottle today, and If so where in the world would you more than likely find it and what would the damage (price) be? thanks.

the price tag is 500Ј which is around 800$ if you can find a bottle.
maybe cheaper in the west indies but it s not really likely you could get one.
just for info tricentennial is a blend of rum from 1969,1974 and 1976

I have a bottle I purchased in this hole in the wall duty free store in Ocho Rios, Jamaica. It cost me $200 US. That was the last thing I expected to find. I should have bought all 3 bottles. I'm kicking myself for not doing so even if it meant using VISA.

I was later in the Grand Caymans and found a bar/restaurant that had it for $40 a drink. It was worth every cent.....

I have yet to buy either ElDo 25 or Pyrat Cask but if I were to spring for the big money it would be tough not to consider the MG, given how much I enjoy Old. I still need a bottle of Family Reserve too.

For me...it would be the MG Tricentennial then the ED 25 year. I like Pyrat but it is just a touch to liqueur like for me.

[QUOTE][ like Pyrat but it is just a touch to liqueur like for me./QUOTE]

Cask is "liquer like" just as the Pyrat XO is?

I've heard some say there is not much of a taste difference. Is this true?
I find that somewhat hard to imagine given the roughly $210 difference in price!

I have never tried the Cask but I have heard the same thing myself. I would have to taste the Cask first before considering a bottle purchase.

I've love Mount Gay rums and El Dorado so it wasn't any trouble purchasing the MG Tricentennial.

I bought two bottles last year for $350 each. They are now out of stock in PA. Due to its scarcity, I would imagine the bottle goes for $500 now. Good investment if you ask me! We sell it for $130 a glass, though the price might increase once I finish my first bottle (which is 2-3 pours from now).

Extraordinary rum though!!
