Default El Dorado 151 vs. Lemon Hart 151

I'm planning to buy a bottle of overproof rum.

Everything I've read says that Lemon Hart is the best. However, it also costs the most. (No surprise there.)

At $32 (LH) vs. $16 (ED), is the Lemon Hart worth it? I'm buying a bunch of stuff to stock my home bar and am trying to save when it's practical.

Thanks!

El Dorado is a clear, light, overproof rum, while Lemon Hart is a colored, heavy dark rum with a lot of flavor. If you're mixing tiki drinks you should definitely go for the more expensive Lemon Hart. The reality is that you don't use much of this rum in any drink, or shouldn't, so a bottle will last a long time and you'll be happier in the long run.

If you can find the old label Lemon Hart, it's much smoother than the new label. The new label has more caramel flavors and just isn't the same. The original is much better for authentic tiki drinks.
