new drink... no title

Today thought I would try something new...
I'm guessing on amounts.... I just poured into a glass with ice.

2oz Apple Pie Liqueur
2oz White Rum I used Yahara Bay
2oz or so (maybe less) of 7-up. Only thing I have that I could have added.

I thought it was quit tasty. It was sweat of course, but I could taste both the rum and the liqueur.

KVH64, I have a few bottles of the Yahara Bay light rum which I bought while in Wisconsin. It's a neutral spirit that I am sure works well with the Apple Pie Liqueur. Apple Pie Liqueur, who makes that? Anyway, I'll try a some Calvados since that's what I have on hand. I will report back on the results.

The makers of the Apple Pie Liqueur are also from Wis. The Missouri Tavern in the Town of Springfield , Wis. Website www.drinkpie.com
I have the 40 proof bottle, but they also make a 70 proof as well.

Although the bottled liqueur is good. Homemade is better!!!

Hi, Robert, essentially a French version of Applejack. Named after the region of Normandy from which it originally hailed. Now, under the law, it can be made in a few other areas. It's a form of brandy distilled from apple cider. Ted Haigh "Dr. Cocktail" has resurrected and created a lot of drinks using Calvados.

KVH, I was in Madison yesterday, and did finally stop in Woodman's East. Not a bad liquor store selection for what amounts to a big grocery store. Pretty impressive. Some good prices on some decent spirits. I took note of the Cabo Wabo Silver Tequila for $31, which is usually over $35.

I saw the Yahara Bay (and yes, the guy that is making this is I think now distilling "Death's Door" Vodka and Gin made from product grown in Door County.

I had to take a pass on the Yahara - $26 for a "boutique" white rum just seemed too much.

What actually really thrilled me about Woodman's was their AWESOME selection of what I would refer to as "Days Gone By Junk Beer from the 1970s"!!!!

They have cases upon cases of Blatz, Blatz Light, Lacrosse, Special Export, Mickey's Bigmouth, Stroh's, Schlitz.

If they had Stag, Falstaff, Red White & Blue and Weidemanns, my life would be complete!!!

I worked my way up to Minneapolis, and I couldn't resist the tempation to buy a case of Schmidt Beer (with the wildlife scenery on the cans), and also a sixer of Grain Belt. (I'd swear Grain Belt is Miller High Life).

I haven't had a Schmidt in a looooong time, so I am wondering if the expression still holds true: "Schmidt - tastes like every other letter."

Yes, Woodmans does have a pretty good selection and prices that aren't bad either. Appleton 21 there is $90, I've seen it elsewhere for $125.

Although I'm not big on "junk beer", I only drink beer when it's free, I suppose that's a "good" selection

Yahara Bay is pretty good. Might have to choke down the price sometime and try it! Just buy it with 2-3 other bottles. You won't notice the $26 floating in there. The other day I noticed a price sticker for Zaya..... I'm waiting for it to be stocked again.... and waiting.....and waiting.....
