Sorry for the double post, but I wanted to say that I randomly found a bottle of Pyrat in the holiday packaging! I was at a nearby luxury W&S store in PA and was about to leave since they didn't have the ED15 that I was looking for. On my way out, I saw the boxes out of the corner of my eye in a random nook of the store. What good luck! I've been smiling all day since. It's been a good day

Any more "old" Pyrat sightings. I grabbed 2 bottles in a shop in Colorado. Lots of dust. Just curious.

Found a bottle (handmade bottle, double ribbon, "PYRAT RUMS" metal tag, no box) at a going out-of-business liquor store, they marked the bottle $199 (it's the only thing left in their "nice stuff" cabinet) they seem open to negotiation, what's a fair price for this bottle?

$50 and not a dollar more. It definitely isn't worth anywhere near what people think it is. However, you need to determine what is is worth to you. I found one not long ago sitting on a shelf. $36 out the door. Yes, the old version.

This is my first post here. I'd like you guys to take a look at this. What year do you think it is? It was part of a case, purchased in 2005, so I know that it is at least that old. This is the last bottle from that case. It is number 44863.

In 2004-2005 at my A-school in Monterey, CA, my friends and I used to drink this stuff a lot. You could get it really cheap at Albertsons, about $19 a bottle. In 2005, I visited my dad in between my A-school and my first duty station in GA. My dad lived in South Sioux City, IA, and that is the area the case was purchased from. My uncle purchased the case for me from a guy he knew who owned a bar. He knew how much I loved the stuff and saw a really good deal. My father passed away and I did not go back for over a decade, so my uncle drank most of the case but he saved me one bottle and gave it to me a couple years ago. It has remained in a dark, cool place ever since he bought it and as long as I have had it.

I am just curious if anyone has any clue as to exactly how old it is. I already know what the old stuff is supposed to taste like (I drank quite a lot of it- I am in the Navy), and what the newer production tastes like. I am no fan of the newer stuff and don't drink it. It's a completely different rum. If anyone has any ideas let me know.
