Default Ron Zacapa 23 coming to Canada

I just visited Willow park Wine in South Calgary and saw a bottle of Zacapa 23 sitting on the back counter. After talking to their spirits manager he informed me that it would be in stock in a couple of weeks. One less to search for in the states. it will be interesting to see how they price it. I will post when they have it in stock.

Nice!

I brought back a bottle of this when I was in Seattle this summer. I think it ran me about $55 USD there. With the CAD being almost on par I'd sure like to see it for about $55 up here...

That is good news. The last time I picked up a bottle of Zacapa 23 it was the old Zacapa 23 Anos bottling which I had to pay $100.00 for.

This will probably be the Zacapa 23 Solera bottling and hopefully it will be much cheaper.

Thanks Calgaryx! I will definitely let my wife know that Zacapa 23 would make an excellent Christmas present for me this year.

Just wondering if more of the Z23 actually showed up in Cowtown. My sources here in Edmonton say Diageo has no plans to bring any more Pampero or Zacapa into Alberta.

It would be really nice if my sources were wrong.

Can't say for sure. Willow park did have a bottle but I haven't seen it on the shelf yet. They have brought in both the English Harbour Reserve (10Year) and English Harbour 1981. Picked up both. Both very nice sippers.

They ought to be very nice sippers considering the prices they go for! I've got an unopened English Harbour Extra Old that I picked up last year for something like a quarter of the price of the new 10 year Reserve. I'd love to try the 1981.

So Jealous! The English Harbour 5yr is one of my absolute favs for an everyday sipper. I've been looking for the 10yr and 1981 but so far I've had no luck.

And the only bottle of Zacapa 23 I've seen is the one in my cupboard I brought back from Seattle this last summer. That's starting to dwindle now...

The 10 year was about 100 dollars and the 1981 was 195 taxes in. I find it interesting that the 1981 is about 300 dollars in California.

Ouch! That's a big step up from the $26 I can get the 5yr for...
