Back from Austria/zurich

Just came back from Zurich/Austria, and I have a new appreciation for what our european members do to attain rum. Stroh was every where, along with Bacardi, and HC. In the zurich airport there is a mall attached with a delicatessen where I bought a bottle of Doorly's and should have bought a bottle of 1999 J Bally but didn't. I also lacked the fortitude to pack any HC to bring back but maybe should have...

Is that seriously all they had, or was there more floating around under the counters of the shops?

I was in a small ski town and all they had selling booze was 2 grocery stores. The duty free out of zurich was a joke. That delicatessen wasn't bad at all however. O well, just means more money to spend on booze here.

If you come to France, a visit to supermarkets is of some interest. For ex. at Leclerc, you get the St James Imperial white at less than 10euros, or Paille at less than 11euros, royal ambré less than 11,5euros and my favorite Vieux at less than 22euros (yummy). Gosling comes at 22, 7y XO Demerara less than 24.
At Auchan Rivière du Mât traditionnel is less than 10for 40°, 11 for 50°, excellent for rhum arrangé!
HC is easily around 15 for white/3y white/anejo especial.
From Spain (for spanish /cuban kind of rons (Nicaragua, etc.) you also get real bargain prices if you don't mind that silly plastic pourer.
