Default Hi

I'm new to this site but drinking rum is something I have been doing for a while. Prior to me appreciating the finer rums I was happy mixing various Mountgays with a splash of ginger beer as I visited Barbados a lot, then I had kids so I had to spend my flight money on something else, with the change left over I began to dabble in the finer sipping rums.

Leading me into the path of following Havana club seleccion de maestros, Orignes 18, Zacapa XO, La Hechicera, El Dorado 5/8/12/15/ 25, Cubaney 25 and the Diplomatico 2000 Vintage. That's just a couple that I have stocked up on that I really like.

I have a sweet tooth so some of my favourites are swayed by this.

Out of curiosity has anyone ever tried the Origenes 30 and Abuelo Centuria? What are your views on them?

Thanks for your replies in advanced!

I know the Abuelo Centuria well, click on the link to see my notes. It is slightly sweet, but not overtly sweet like some other rums.

When I dream up a better job, I'm going to take it. In the meantime, the research continues.

My name is Matt. I am new to rum and to the forum. I figured if I want to learn about rum, I'd start by seeing what true connoisseurs have to say.

Default New memver

Hello all,
I join you from Melbourne, Australia.
Most Australian's prefer our own home grown rum "Bundaberg" which is traditionally drunk by the bucket full with Cola & ice. Personally I prefer the Caribbean dark rums.
My favorite tipples at the moment are the Mount Gay Eclipse & XO.
I look forward to hearing from all of you fellow rum drinkers & what are your favorites.
But most of all look forward to tasting your favorites.

Default Visakan From Chennai, India

Hi, Good to be a member in the rum community. I am a regular user of Rum for more than seven years and love to drink the same more than anything in alcohol. In India we got some good brands which will match any international standards in flavours and Taste. I would like to single out Celebration Brand form Mc Dowell distillery which stand out from the rest.
