Default Favorite Whire Rum or Rhum for sipping

What is your favorite Blanco rum for sipping? I know most people sip aged rums but I have realy been enjoying sipping a few white rums lately. My favorites are:

Ron Ocumare Blanco
Barbancourt Blanco
Pyrat Blanco
10 Cane (newer bottelings)

The ones that I decided are best for mixing are:
Doorly's Macaw White (was quite disappointed in this one)
Myers Platinum
Don Q Crystal
Brugal

In between are are:
Appleton White
Cruazan Estate

Yet to try:
Flor De Cana 4 yr White
Barcela Gran Anejo Blanco
Oronocco from Brazil

Oh, you are in for a treat. While I haven't had the Barcelo, the FDC is great, and the Oronoco is exquisite.

Neisson, La Favorite, from Martinique
Bologne from Guadaloupe
Oronoco
Matusalem Platino
10 cane is not bad.

Mixers:
Havana Club 3 goes either way
Appleton
FDC 4
The Martinique white agricoles can be mixed nicely in certain cocktails.

It's worth noting that more than 75% of the white rum in Martinique is drunk as ti punch. It is rarely mixed with Cola, mostly by visitors to the island.

Its rarely mixed with Cola as Ed said, but I think they make rum punches? Punch coco..punch planteur..are not these punches as common as the ti punch? even if its not the same thing.

My favorite white rum for sipping is Oronoco. Then many of the white agricoles.

Tried a new one this week, Kaniche Caraibe Rum Blanc. I am impressed. For the moment it is my favorite White rum.

For some guys the new girlfriend is the best, for me it is the new rum.

That is a new rum from Kaniche. Is there a story on the bottle that you can share? Kaniche used to have a story about the Indians on Martinique teaching the settlers how to make rum from the indigenous sweet grass.
That one won the best story on the egullet forum.

Default Great White Hunter of Rum

Oronoco is a great white suitable for sipping. Charbay is a great white. Clemente Premiere Canne is a great white. Pritchard's Crystal is very good. Appleton is good. Matusalem Platino is good. Don Q Crystal is good. Barbancourt clear is good. JM clear is good. Bacardi Havana Club (Puerto Rico) is good. Ten Cane is good.

Sunset Very Stong Rum from St. Vincent smells like butterscotch candy, but will kick your ass when it reaches your mouth. Strangely, I've grown to like this once in a while in small quantities, sort of like putting a good dose of wasabi on sushi.

Jolly Roger is not on my favorites list.

It seems many of you forgot about Tortuga White rum, Despite only getting my hands on a flask of this stuff (which i shared with two others), this is my favorite white rum to mix, and its also good on the rocks.

Of course, nothing compares to Oronoco, the best white rum Ive ever tasted. Cruzan white and Montecristo Premium Blend are also up there as good mixing whites.
