Not a fan. I was surprised the first time I tasted it that it had a Dominican/Cuban flavor to it--in the same category with Atlantico and vizcaya--not that that's a bad thing but I was surprised.

However, to me 1919 is too hot, has too much smoke, menthol, and clove(?) flavor to be enjoyable as a sipper. But this style is just not my personal favorite one and I wouldnt be surprised to hear that others are fond of it. I do enjoy vizcaya as the top representative of the style.

Not one of my favourites either. Too much vanilla and much too "slippery". I prefer the younger Angostura rums - they seem to have a more robust/spicy flavour.

Funnily enough just bought a bottle of this to sip with brother in law a few weekends ago. Tasty stuff although the vanilla doe stand out a bit. Pretty good for the price (less than $A60), too, I reckon.
