Baton Rouge, LA area
Just found Ron Pampero for $26.99 at a little local grocery...had to pounce on it. Will report back if I find any more deals.

Nice score in the south. That may have been a bottle produced before Diageo moved the production of that rum to the Distilleria Unidas where Cacique and Diplomatico are produced.

Yes, Ed, I thought it was quite a nice find (may have to go pick up some more at that price). As far as the origins, there is a bottle number - 483701 - and it says that it is imported by Industrias Pampero in Norwalk, CT.
For anyone in the area who is interested, I found the rum at Harvest Supermarket, right off of I-10 in Geismar, LA.

Nowalk, CT is Diageo's US headquarters and you'll find several products imported by xyz company, Norwalk, CT.

Gotcha, thanks for the info.
This afternoon I found the same bottle of Pampero for $25.99 at Martin Wine Cellar in Baton Rouge.
Ed, do you know why there is such a discrepancy in rum prices? I've never seen the Pampero in San Francisco below $33, and yet have found it at the prices above in Louisiana. On the flip side, as an example, I've seen Zaya for ~$26 at Safeway in San Francisco, but here I've see it as high as $38.
