Default My RUM drink won the TDN!

Big surprise this day, my rum drink won the TDN cocktail competition! and i want to give credit to Robert and Robert V Burr who first made the White Zombie, because without the White Zombie i wouldnґt have made the
Demerara Bomb White Zombie..from which i took inspiration to develop Demerara Bomb #2 which won this last TDN.

Congrats on the win....don't know if I missed it or if you posted it, but I am interested to see the contents, and give it a try myself.

Congratulations Tiare!

We had planned to try your Demerara Bomb #2 as soon as we picked up a bottle of Fernet (the one ingredient lacking), but the reception which your cocktail received increases the anticipation.

Thanks for making this version with less rare rums so that we can all try it.

I`m so sorry..i forgot entirely to write down the recipe, so here it is copied from the Kaiserpenguin blog:

Demerara Bomb #2

* 3oz El Dorado Rum Cream (sub Castries),
* 1oz Lemon Hart 151
* 1oz El Dorado 12
* 1 oz El Dorado 15
* 1/4oz Fernet Branca, floated

Shake all but the lovely Fernet Branca with cracked ice, and strain into a chilled goblet of victory. Float the Fernet Branca with care.

And the 2 drinks that was inspiring me is on my blog in this post.

Thank you guys for your kind words! and happy drinking!

And you are all most welcome to take part in the TDN every thursday, this thursday the topic is chartreuse.

The best cocktail of the evening will win a copy of Harry Johnson's Bartenders' Manual courtesy of Mud Puddle Books.

Wow, that's quite a cocktail. A few of those and it'd be a very happy night.

I think that would pretty well take care of the better part of an evening. Congratulations on the win.

Congratulations on the win. The theme of a loaded cocktail based on a great rum cream is timeless and classic. I hope the connection to the original White Zombie movie is not lost. It's a classic also.

12 can be closer to the profile of Zacapa 23, where 15 is more complex and a bit less sweet on the front.
