We haven't tried anything from Clement to this point except the Creole Shrubb, several loom near on the horizon, VSOP and now Cuvee Charles of most immediate interest. A quick internet search seems to confirm that the Cuvee Charles is not available in this country. The royal mile whiskies site describes it as follows,

"This Martinique rum is named after the distillery's founder and is a mix of 3 year old rum, 6 year old rum matured in ancient casks, and 6 year old rum matured in new casks. With a dried fruit and spicy character, this is an after-dinner rum."

It sounds good, but the Clement website doesn't seem to show any Cuvee Charles. Is it still produced?

I purchased mine in July of 2007, on St Barths. I was told at that time it was available on Martinique also. But, a year+ is a long time, it is possible they discontinued it. Ed might have more info, I believe he was there this year.

I didn't see that rhum in Martinique when I was there in May of this year. Clиment is changing a lot of things including their blends, bottles and names of their rhums. There is a rhum called Cuvиe Homиre that was named for the founder of the company.

As a blending and bottling company it is possible that Cuvee Charles was blended and bottled for someone else and wasn't ever actually sold by Clиment which would explain its absence on the Clиment website.

When I dream up a better job, I'm going to take it. In the meantime, the research continues.
