Bars that appreciate RUM

A growing number of bars appreciate rum, and and we appreciate them.

Default The Passenger, Washington, D.C.

Add another one to the D.C. list with The Passenger Owners Tom and Derek Brown are two of the most thoughtful and talented cocktail craftsmen you will ever meet, and their list of good rums is growing.

Quite simply, they manage to take any good spirit and realize its full potential, and what they can do with rum is no exception.

There is no cocktail list. You simply tell them what kind of drink you want, or what you are in the mood for, and they'll take it from there.

Just last night, I helped Bartender Alex come up with what is now probably my favorite rum cocktail, which I will write about elsewhere here. Stay tuned.

I look forward to tasting that drink this weekend while I'm in Washington for the Repeal Day party. I also want to taste one of Adam's Ultimate Mai Tais. The last one I had was at 11:30 in the morning and I couldn't drink all of it since I had work to do.

When I dream up a better job, I'm going to take it. In the meantime, the research continues.
