White Rums

Whether you call them, clear, silver, white or simple 'see through' how do you drink them?

Default Vizcaya Blanco

Has anyone heard anything about the release of this rum? I saw a blurb about it a couple months back but haven't heard anything since. Was this rum just a rumor or has it not reached distribution yet?

I haven't heard anything about it from the blender or the brand owner. These things take time.

Default Vizcaya: The Next Generation?

I know this brand and its owner intimately and if this rumor is true, it is a "black ops" project, which will be shrouded in vanity and mystique and hopefully live up to the Olympic benchmark of its original.

As I was told, the first plans were to release the 1st version of Vizcaya Blanco in june/july 2010 (if i remember right) .. which obviously didnt happen. when I was in Oliver & Oliver in august I got to taste Vizcaya Blanco 2nd formula - was a little bit sweeter. So It is not a rumor.. it really exists and it tastes excellent! Hope they release it soon

I wrote about Vizcaya Blanco already in May on dominicanrums.com - the date says august but i copied the text from an older blog of mine published in May 2010.

I can confirm the rumour too as I was with Pavol at Oliver & Oliver where we sampled a great white rum that was to be Vizcaya Blanco. They produce some great rums in their small aging facility and take the use of oak to the max.
