Default Montecristo Spiced Rum

I opened a bottle of Montecristo Spiced Rum last night and wasn't disappointed with their latest offering. I don't know much about the age of this spiced rum, but I'm very happy to report that Tim and the guys at Montecristo didn't add a lot of sugar and let the cinnamon flavor come through nicely throughout the body and finish of this spiced rum. The body is slightly viscous and reminds me of the hot spice of fresh cinnamon. The flavors are nicely integrated and it finishes well.

Picked up a bottle of this last night for a gathering at a friend's house. I'd seen it but was reluctant based on experiences with other spiced rums. I'm glad I gave this a shot. Now I have another option besides Foursquare for a good spiced rum. Thanks for the tip, Ed.

Default Monte Cristo Spiced Rum Is Nice Rum

I was pleasantly surprised by the new Monte Cristo spiced rum. Tastes like the perfect spirit to make your old Egg Nog a special holiday treat. In addition to an appealing and satisfying combination of spices, the product is made of fine aged rum from Guatemala. Solidly apart from those spirits in the gimmick category, I like this rum for special occasions.

I couldn't get it down here in PA, so I finally got a hold of it thanks to Daniel, their head of sales in the northeast (thats my shout out).

He sent me two bottles, and wow! I'm excited to try it in a hot toddy!

That is a great rum for a hot rum drink as it will stand up to the heat, no pun intended. I was thinking about hot spiced apple cider as soon as I finish the drink in my hand.

That's the thought that immediately ran through my head upon reading your description of the flavor. I'll have to find some of this for the holidays.
