Default Your last rum purchase

If you knew rum was going to tripple in price in the next 6 months, and you wanted to put back a few cases, what would they be.
Mine would be:

Lemon Hart 151
Appleton Reserve or 12
Ron Zacapa 23
10 Cane or a Neisson blanc

Paris is a beautiful place. Was lucky enough to visit there 15 years ago. The RUM is probably just as nice.

Just received my bottle of Dos Maderas PX 5+5 in the post today.

Remarkable stuff. It's very sweet and the sherry cask ageing has really come to dominate the taste and smell. Clearly it's impossible for anywhere near that amount of sugar to get through distillation and I'd doubt that even PX barrels have enough left soaked into the wood to add that much sweetness so I'm guessing it's had it's fair share of caramel syrup added.

The effect however is superlative. Honey, dried figs, caramel, raisins and spices abound. For a sweet sipping rum it's immediately taken a top spot in my all-time favorites.

I think these sorts of rums move into the arena of liqueurs but if that's your bag (and it's one of mine) then this is highly recommended.
