Default Great Rum Bar in Phoenix, AZ

We went to the Breadfruit/ Rum Bar. Had a great time. Service was excellent. Music was Island. Food was great! Rum selection was superb! Applaud what they are doing! Yo Jose. Jim

Was in Phoenix last week on business, tracked down Breadfruit about a 15 minute walk north of the downtown area. Great sign out front that says simply "RUM."

Food selection and preparation were great, and the rum selection was awesome, well over 100 bottles arranged on the wall behind the bar for all to see.

Ditto everything said in the post above. Highest recommendation if you are in the area.

Live slightly north of that area, but I was wondering when is the proper time to go to a bar like this? With a group of friends? When you're hungry? I could use a fix of some fried plantains (family from Barbados originally) and test out some new rums but if it's exorbitant prices it doesn't make alot of sense.

I went on a Thursday evening at dinner hour, not too busy. Expect it would be more crowded on the weekend. People there were very friendly. Drink prices were typical bigger city, most stuff $6-8 range. Lots of middle shelf rums $10-12 and some top shelf $18-XXX. Food on the other hand was very reasonably priced, most entrees in the $teens. In other words, a good time that won't break the bank (unless you ask them to get down the 50 yer old stuff!!!)
