With the new packaging Appleton has also reformulated some of the products in the line so it is possible. I can't remember the exact changes but I think Appleton 12 should have remained the same blend. Of course blends change naturally over the years. I still have an old version of Appleton 12 and will compare it with the new packaging when I get the chance.
