Oronoco is very different from Ten Cane, but that has been reformulated since it was launched as well. the latest blend of Oronoco is made from highly distilled cane juice in Brazil, then blended with aged Jamaican rum. It's still pretty clear in the bottle.
Maybe molasses wasn't the correct term but the finish did remind me of those Sugar in the Raw packets, without the sticky sweetness. That is what I loved about it.

Glad to have found this forum - I look forward to broadening my horizons. Rum is my favorite liquor by far.
