Hi there,
as I have travelled quite often to Martinique I also visited Macouba in the very north several times. So I was really surprised to discover a rhum once being distilled in or around Macouba that is not Rhum JM (which is in fact my favorite old rhum agricole). I bought this bottle of "Reserve antique 21 years" that I am not able to figure out where it had been distilled. As far as I know, there has been another distillery at Macouba, just before entering downtown. Can anyone tell me more about the background or history of this Reserve antique?
I never regret buying this bottle. It provides the strongest caramel and toffee flavor I ever tasted in any rhum. This makes it quite different to Rhum JM.
