The discussion of why liquor prices are higher in Washington could fill this forum. The simplest answer is that Costco and their attorneys sold out the people of Washington so that Costco and a few other large retailers could profit. One of the fees or taxes that is included in the deal is a stipulation that distributors accept responsibility for $150 million in revenue that was previously collected by the state. For any small distributor to sign up for that costs money.

I was in Washington state the night the curtain was removed on prices. To say the public was falling over in the aisles is an overstatement but no one was buying as much liquor as they thought they were going to.

When I dream up a better job, I'm going to take it. In the meantime, the research continues.
