We have got this rum in the special ordering section in our spirit shop, they call it simply,Longpond Jamaican dark rum..
They describe it as being light gold colored and spicy.
Producer:Berry Bros & Rudd
It cost 70 euros..
What rum is this? is it a Silver Seal rum or something else?

It's similar to Silver Seal in that it's made and aged in the Caribbean and bottled in Scotland. I don't know any of the Long Pond distillery brands and I've been speculating they bulk supply rums to the naval style blends.
Should be very interesting - presumably it's the same bottle as at Royal Mile Whisky?

Hmm..i don`t know as they have no picture of the bottle..
I wonder if its worth trying? its very expensive.
So its not similar to Silver Seal in taste then?

Anything that comes out of the same distillery will have similar characteristics, but it may be blended for a different outcome. It certainly looks lighter in colour to the Silver Seal from Long Pond we have

Longpond is a distillery in Jamaica which makes a varieties of rums which are sold in bulk to blenders and bottlers in Europe. Longpond doesn't bottle any rums under the Longpond name.
Longpond is best known for its high ester rums made by adding dunder, spent yeast, to the fermenting wash before it is distilled in a pot still. These high ester rums are mostly used for blending as straight high ester aged rums are an acquired taste.

Probably not worth it.
