Bermudez rum?

Anybody ever try any of this rum from the Dom. Rep.? What are your thoughts? I can't find much information on them, but below are the ones listed that they produce. Are there any that are recommended to add to a collection?

All I know is what I read in Dave Broom's book "Rum" in that they do very little if any exporting and that has resulted in diminished numbers, as it used to account for 33% of all D.R.'s rum sales, now its more like 3%. I hear it is very good and am anxious to try it though!

Bermъdez Rums is trying to get an importer and distributors in the US now. I met with an importer in Miami that has samples of all the Bermъdez Rums. They were evaluating the products late last year. I believe a deal is in the works.

I especially like the 1852 Aniversario. I believe there was also an 8 that was notable. The packaging was not the best I've seen; they'll probably design new bottles for the US market.

I will be traveling to the DR in a couple of weeks and am hoping to pick up a couple of these, but was wondering which of the selection were worth seeking out. Sounds like the 1852 Anniversario is a good start - any others of note? Looks like (from what I've found here in the index) that the Anejo selecto is a 6 yo dark rum, the Dorado is a 3 yo lighter amber - any idea what the reserva especial is? doesn't mention it...

We have a bottle of the 1852 Anejo Selecto here at the bar. It's been open a while and not had more of a snifter taken from it so I can assume it's not that special.

Tasting it now, it's surprisingly good. Not exactly what I was expecting, quite high estery but buttery smooth and rich for a Dom Rep rum. A good mixing rum in my opinion.

The packaging is appalling though
