I opened a bottle of this and thought it worth mentioning. It's my first time tasting so these are preliminary thoughts at most. My first impression is that it is a decent ron blanco. I am not overly enthusiastic about white rums so I'm not too sure where to place this one. By my own palate it isn't quite as easily sip-able or dimensional as Oronoco, nor does it possess as textured a flavor make-up as La Flor Extra D.
What it did possess which I was fairly impressed with is a definite berry-like fruitiness from the mid thru finish. That and it's gentler humble nature throughout completely spares one of that flammable cut your breathe, alcohol concept I've experienced with so many other white rums. Price-wise this is a keeper for me.

Has anyone else ventured down this path? I'll have to give the middle offering a try soon as I have no complaints with either this or the Special Reserve.
