Zaya back at Spec's in Houston

I was at the downtown Spec's in Houston (Houston's largest liquor dealer/chain) and they once again had Zaya in stock. This is big news, as Spec's had some sort of deal with Zafra and Zaya was not available for nearly a year at Spec's. If you'd ask for Zaya, the employees would tell you that "Zafra's better anyway."

I guess the power of the dollar spoke; there were 20+ bottles of Zafra there while the Zaya was selling like hotcakes.

I'm not bashing Zafra, but to my taste (and to that of my friends), it's no Zaya.

Very interesting. I don't know anything about the store chain but fpr some to say Zafra is better than Zaya blows my mind. Besides those two rums being so drastically different in flavor and style, I found Zafra quite unpleasant LOL :)

Sounds like that was a business driven comment rather than a rum informed comment.
