It is a sign of the times that the Best Bar in America, as named at the Nightclub and Bar show in Las Vegas this week, is Smugglers Cove, a rum bar.

Congratulations to everyone who has worked to make Smuggler's Cove a great place to drink and unwind in San Francisco. Martin Cate and his wife have worked tirelessly for the last four years to bring this dream to life. My hat is off to you. All the best.

Easy to see how Smuggler's Cove is voted best bar in America. Great cocktails super friendly staff and a very cozy environment. If you haven't been there its a must stop in San Francisco, congratulations Martin.

Thank you everyone for the kind words! That means a lot to all of us at The Cove. Jackson Cannon, the great bartender from Eastern Standard in Boston who won Best Bartender, and I were both in agreement that this represented a really positive move in recognizing craft cocktail programs that focus on premium spirits and fresh ingredients.
