Just wondering about these older rums, ie, English Harbour 1981, El Dorado 25, etc. Are these one-shot type of rums, or are the makers building older stock for more of these types of rums?

Obviously English Harbour 25 YO barelled in 1981 was limited to a certain amount of bottles. However, have the makers been building stock so that perhaps there will be an English Harbour 1991 25 YO rum in say 2016/1017?

Good question.

I've not heard anything to suggest it, but I would not doubt it either, since there always have to be "new" 25 year olds to replenish the diminishing stocks of the original stuff.

However, I think they may not yet be ready to start issuing "expressions" of rum the way whisky or wine makers do, that are relevant to a particular year: I more see plantation-specific issues like the El Dorado PM, ICBU and ENM being the trend.
