Has Angostura 1919 been discontinued? I'm just not seeing it in my area anymore.

As an aside, the 1824 has always sold around here about $2 more than the 1919--less than $30--which I understand is about half what it costs elsewhere. It's now priced at $65. Unfortunately, I tried it once and didn't care for it, so I couldn't really take advantage of the great price.

I don't believe so. We still have it here. I am visiting Angostura in Trinidad next week so will double check. There was talk of a new "Master Blenders Rum" last time I was there but I have never heard of what has happened to that. I did point out that Appleton did have a rum named that. I will report back with any updates when I get back.

We just received a shipment in the Seattle area...apparently more is coming soon. So I would agree with Rumelier.

Cheers!

No supply problems whatsoever here in Germany, I guess you can relax :)

Yummmmm....a little 1919 over rocky road ice cream is beyond sinfully good. I've been addicted to that combo since my first try over last summer.

My first reaction Baltrumfan was to laugh from being startled. Then I thought about it? After all, I like both of your ingredients, and there was nothing in my mind arguing with how the two sets of flavors would clash. How did you hear of this in particular? And when you make it, do you eat it, or drink it?

it was completely unplanned and by chance. i think it was july we were eating some rocky road and there was only a ittle bit of 1919 left in the bottle so on a whim i poured about a shot's worth into my bowl with the two scoops of ice cream. it pooled around the bottom of the scoops so on each spoonfull i would dip in the rum. heaven on earth, lol it gave just a little warmth to the rocky road and a nice vamilla finish with e rich chocolate ice cream.

then about september i made a milkshake amd added two shots worth (3oz.) into the mixer with the usual milk and rocy road. i keep my shakes on the thick side but still straw capable, lol best shake ive ever made....
