So, I have been, from time to time, checking in on the Ministry of Rum because, well, it's got a lot of interesting info and as I get older and wiser, I have come to realize that rum really is the best spirit and offers the most diverse tasting experience. Over the last couple of years I have really been expanding my collection of rum which my wife thinks is completely out of hand at this point,(somewhere around 40-50) but hey, she drinks only one thing, an innocuous white wine, but always seems to want to taste my efforts. So not to get too verbose here, I am in the DC area which offers imbibers of all stripes a wonderful panoply of choices in both wine and spirits and have been of course very interested in all of the columns of Jason Wilson, the Post columnist for spirits. Well, Jason has many times mentioned a store in DC which is run by one Joe Riley, and I, slow as I am on the uptake sometimes, only recently have visited and discovered his deep selection of rum. Of course I asked for advice, now I have returned recently for more, and now discover Joe is posting here. So I had to join! So thanks Joe for helping me add some wonderful rums to my experience and I look forward to your advice and counsel here as well as in your store. And also from all you other members... hopefully I may add something as well.
