Hi Guys / Gals
I just joined MoR looking for advice and I find that you people are very welcoming and knowledgeable about different types of rums and uses (my hat goes off to you all). Anyways, my quest that leads me to MoR is that I was wondering if anyone has found London Dock closer to Alberta than Newfoundland. I had a friend bring some back when they went on vacation and the bottle is getting low gzzg. I would really like to find it in Alberta but so far in my town it is not sold or specially ordered.
Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks

sorry my friend, I've actually never heard of London Dock but don't let that disrupt your search. The problem might be that in Canada a lot of the state rum stores seem to make getting certain rums difficult.:o

Welcome to the fo-Rum!
I don't believe London Dock is available West of the Atlantic Provinces (closest being NB).
I've just received information that London Dock is a Demerara rum from DDL in Guyana, the makers of the well known and highly respected El Dorado rums. It's a blend of rums aged less than 2 years. I would suggest you find a bottle of El Dorado 5yo if you want a similar rum. I would bet you'll enjoy the El Dorado just as much (if not more) as the London Dock and you can probably locate it easily.
Hope this helps!

Hello:
Here are Two Rums in Alberta that may be very similar, as each is a El Dorado based Demerara Rum
Highwood Imported White Rum and
Boss Rum
Any Liquor Store you visit should be able to go onto the ALGC site and tell you where to buy them.
Cheers!

LOVE London Dock especialy when it was at the higher ABV. I have found it in Saskatchewan and it is listed in Manitoba.
My only source is a fellow Caper troopmate.

In my experience most of the El Dorado rums are better than those that SSL sells for their private labels, which only makes sense. The other rums have their places and traditions but if you can't find one of their private label rums, go to the source. On the other hand, maybe the less mature, raw flavor of some of the private labels appeals to you.

There's always Cabot Tower. It's the exact same rum, but at higher abv. (50%).
