vBulletin, the authors of this forum software have introduced a blog feature which can be incorporated into this forum. I'm considering buying this feature but would like some feedback from forum users.
Would you like to see this feature so you can post your own tasting notes on rums here on this website?

In an effort to control spam, this feature will be limited to those members who have responsibly participated in this forum. Any comments are welcome.

I am not sure but I think blogs might decrease posting in the forum if people start posting in their own blogs. They might quickly run out of forum post ideas. I post on a forum where the blog feature is on use, I actually forgot about it before I was reminded about that feature in this thread. You can see it in action here: http://www.zgeek.com/forum/blog.php

I agree. And there are at least 3 of us who run our own blogs on tasting notes and such. I would probably continue to mention something short & simple and post a link to my blog entry.

I do, however, like the idea of people posting tasting notes. It does seem possibly crazy to have a "Tasting Notes" sub-forum with a thread per rum. Or further sub-forums for each type of rum (white, gold, spiced, etc) or for each country of origin??

I think there would be too many forums if there is a forum for each country of origin. Personally I think it is not a good idea to "scatter" forums like that as then posting will not be as concentrated anymore. It would be different if the forum was absolutely huge.

Speaking of our own blogs. Did you get my invitation via e-mail?

I saw a post, but did not get an email... Did you PM me here or did you email my GoogleMail account?

I posted in the e-mail I have used before. Not the gmail account but the other one. We should probably not continue this discussion in this thread anymore as this is off topic. Apologies Mr. Hamilton (btw I sent one to your e-mail as well)
