Ahoy!

New members here.

We have always enjoyed drinking rum. Cruising on our sailboat added a new dimension, in that we could now visit some of the distilleries in person. We grew to appreciate rum even more, after reading Canadian Ann Vanderhoofs book, An Embarrassment of Mangoes. We highly recommend that read by the way. We learned about Ed Hamilton via the Mangoes book and "just now" learned about this web site.

Currently our favorite sipping rum is Ron Zacapa Solera 23.

In the closet we have Gosling's Black Seal rum for Dark and Stormy's, Mount Gay Eclipse rum for everyday mixing, Myers dark rum for making rum cake, Cruzan single barrel estate rum, Domaine de Severin rhum agricole de la Guadeloupe, Royal Extra mature demerara rum, Ron Cubaney Gran reserva rum, Pussers British Navy Rum, Sainte-Etienne vieux rhum agricole reserve speciale VSOP, Angostura Single Barrel Reserve limited edition rum, Admiral Rodney extra old St. Lucia rum, English Harbor aged Antigua rum, Flor de Cana Grand Reserve 7 year rum, Cruzan black strap rum, Angostura 1919, Cockspur 5 star rum, Ron Medellin Anejo, CSR (Cane Spirit Ritchmont) rum of St. Kitts, St. Kitts rhum and Mr. Boston rum and Montego Bay Gold rum for making rum punch.

Whew, I guess we did get carried away tasting all the rums as we sailed around the Caribbean. But it sure was fun.

Welcome to the forums. Ann has another book coming out later this spring, I'm sure you'll enjoy it as much as her last book.

welcome....closet full??? sounds like you have the cargo hold full (nothing wrong with that)

I read you have rhum Domain de Severin? How do you like it? Is it similar to Damoiseau? I have tried and really enjoyed Damoiseau and am looking to try other rhum agricole from Guadeloupe.
