I'm in the process of setting up an online video channel for the Ministry of Rum to do tastings, interviews with distillers and other things of interest to the Ministry of Rum Forum members.

In order to make this as good as it can be for you, I'd like you input on times and days of the week that would be best for you to view live content. The goal is to have this content archived and available on demand but in the live format forum members would be able to ask questions in a live chat room while interviews, etc. are taking place. Do you have a question you'd like to ask me or my guest?

Early indications are that Tuesdays or Thursdays at 8-9EST would be best for the live channel, but as always, your input is appreciated.

Either or for me. How would it work? would we see the person being interviewed or would they be able to see us? Would there be 12 different little open screens on my monitor with 12 members coming across live? Sounds great to me whatever it is.yay.gif

Good question. Much is to be determined but my best guess at this time is that you would be able to see the person being interviewed but they wouldn't be able to see you. There would also be a chat stream next to the video screen so members could ask questions in real time and selected questions would be answered live in video and audio streamed through your computer browser.

Bandwidth is one consideration. 12 video screens for example would require a lot more bandwidth. I'm no expert but I'm looking at several models and hope to have something to test next month.

How does Wed sound? As a kid I used to go to pot luck dinners at the church on Wednesdays.
