Based on the recommendation of jjwest in my intro thread I headed down to Trader Vic's today with a couple of friends to sample their Mai Tais and to just check the place out. Being new that was the first I'd heard of Trader Vic's, glad I found out.

What a great atmosphere and a very nice place. Neither of my friends are, or were ;), rum drinkers but agreed to tag along and check out the new place. We got a table in the center where we could see the ovens and smell the open fire and all the delicious food, we'd just went for cocktails but ended up snacking a bit anyhow.

Of course I ordered a Mai Tai and one of my buddies got a beer while the other ordered a margarita, we've been out several times and he always drinks margaritas or wine. However he sampled my Mai Tai and ordered one soon after. We enjoyed some great conversation, food and drinks as well as some admiring the lovely ladies that were there.

I checked out there rum selection and there were a few I didn't recognize but I did see Zaya, Matusalem, Barbancourt, Pyrat and Pampero - a decent selection it seemed.

Here are a few pics, sorry about the quality... camera on the iPhone stinks.
