Gday From Australia Mates,

not much to tell apart from a question about a bottle of rum i was given...

bottled in 1885 (stamped on the bottom of bottle), its full 750ml...22.5% Beenliegh in a pottery bottle! Its labelled Beenliegh Original RUM LIQUEUR...

DO i drink this or sell it???

Pls tell.

Welcome to the forums. Stamped 'bottled in 1885' on the bottom of the bottle? Is this embossed in the glass? If so, I'd be surprised if a rum maker in Australia was buying special glass bottles in 1885 for rum when at the time most rum was sold in bulk to bars and stores.

Here's a clue (http://www.ministryofrum.com/producerdetails.php?t=57). Beenleigh was founded in 1884. The date 1885 might have something to do with production, it takes some time to get going with a rum distillery, even if you don't age it.

Sounds like a very cool bottle of rum, do you have any pics you can share?
