Bounty Rum

I've been reduced to buying Mt. Gay (which is one of the better rums in the world) instead of being able to get Bounty from St. Lucia.

Can anyone recommend a similar rum that would be available in California or why we can't get Bounty in the states. Apparently it's available in the UK.

I've never seen Bounty in London - if anyone has done, where?:confused:

Saint Lucia Distillers Ltd., the distiller and bottler of Bounty rum don't sell any of their products in the US for several reasons. Trade and social ties with the UK are much stronger than those with the US and the US market is much more competitive than some other European and African markets.

I do look forward to the day when this changes.
